The Financial Support Your Family Could be Eligible For this School Holidays

 LATEST NEWS

When things are tough out there, Kiwi families are some of the most resilient and resourceful there are.

As many parents’ face Cost-of-Living pressures – school holidays can prove challenging as they are confronted with the need to find 12 weeks of care for their children with only 4 weeks of annual leave a year.

However, many aren’t aware of the financial relief available to support both after school and school holiday care for their kids.

Currently, a number of our Youthtown families are tapping into the WINZ Out of School Care and Recreation (OSCAR) Subsidy — a remarkable Government initiative that many are eligible for without even realising it.

This subsidy is a game-changer, assisting with the costs of before and after school care for up to 20 hours a week and up to 50 hours a week during school holidays for those who meet the criteria.

We have seen first-hand the difference this payment can make to families in accessing care and providing opportunities for their children to flourish out-of-school hours.

Youthtown is committed to making life that little bit easier for hardworking parents and giving their children fun, educational experiences while fostering connections throughout the school holidays.

The OSCAR subsidy isn't just about financial relief; it's about peace of mind for eligible parents, allowing them to save their annual leave while knowing their children are in safe and capable hands.

Throughout Aotearoa – our school holiday activities are as diverse as they are enriching. Whether it's dedicated sports coaching days, excursions to trampoline parks and rock-climbing centres, or creative cooking and crafts sessions, there's something for every child to thrive.

Our OSCAR programmes meet the highest standards of safety and education, ensuring that every child's well-being is our top priority. By providing a nurturing and inclusive environment, we're not just shaping minds; we're shaping futures.

We are committed to providing enriching opportunities to our children but also supporting parents to the best of our ability to access our services.

Let's rewrite the narrative around seeking support. It's not about stigma; it's about empowerment.
