The Grind

The Grind is the ultimate hang out for Upper Hutt teens.

Kick back and listen to awesome local tunes from DJs, college bands, perfomance groups and solo artists while enjoying a coffee or hot chocolate at the same time!

THE LOW DOWN:

Chill

Join us at Youthtown Upper Hutt for a chill out night of movies, Playstation, live music and great food!

Designed to provide young people with a space to relax and unwind, chill gives you a chance to hang out, play, eat and chill in a safe environment.

Intermediate School Programmes

Nitro Ten Pin Bowling

Sharpen your skills and get amongst the action at the Captains Alley. You must phone to book a lane if you wish to bowl outside these hours or on the weekend. Open to Yr 7 – Yr 13

Piece of Cake

Learn the art of cupcake decorating with our professional cake decorator.  You will acquire new skills and techniques to create works of edible art. Let your imagination and taste buds run wild! Open to Yr 7 – Yr 9

Rock the Foundations

Don’t be a guitar hero, become the next guitar legend instead. Let our experienced tutor Jae Bedford start you on your rock star journey. Jae has spent the last14 years developing his craft at the University School of Music in Nelson and Dunedin. This programme is sure to strike a chord and will cover keys, chords, theory, timing, scales and song writing. Open Yr 7 – Yr 8

Queenstown Rush Mountain Bike Adventure

An epic day of adventure guaranteed. Travel Saturday morning for the challenges that lye in wait in the Ben Lomond Forest in Queenstown.

Catch a ride up on the Skyline Gondola and six minutes later you’ll be shredding down the various tracks on offer. When you get to the bottom, simply start again. Full Skyline Gondola day pass, transport, bike and safety gear provided. Open Yr 7 – Yr 13
