The next best thing to the Oscars!

Are you New Zealand’s next Peter Jackson or up-and-coming Anna Paquin? If so, the Short Film Challenge could be your stepping stone to stardom!

The Short Film Challenge gives budding film makers, actors and actresses their chance to shine on the silver screen. From scriptwriting and producing to acting, directing and editing, it’s a great chance to dabble in the film industry!

To help ensure your film or performance is Oscar-worthy, optional film workshops are run at Youthtown centres around the country every Saturday for the 10 weeks leading up to judging day. The winning films (judged and decided upon by a panel of film industry pros) are then screened at the Academy Cinema in Auckland.

KEY DATES:

Workshops: 1 May 2010 - 3 July 2010

Competition closes: 30 July 2010

Premiere: 18 August 2010, Academy Cinema, Auckland
