Family Fun at BLOOM Festival

Youthtown's Big Top Art Tent  was a huge highlight at the BLOOM Family Festival in Matakana last weekend. Those who visited the tent got to take party in a range of creative activities including: lantern making, air brush tattooing, painting onto perspex, face painting, mask and kite making.

Family and friends also got to play dress ups using an array of costumes and hats and have their photos taken in the photo booth.

Youthtown Christmas and New Year Hours

Youthtown branches nationwide will be closed from Friday 23 December until Monday 9 January, 2012.

On behalf of the entire Youthtown team, thank you for all of your support and encouragement this year - it's been a biggie!

Youthtown Partners with Basketball Auckland

Youthtown has partnered with Basketball Auckland in an effort to encourage inner city basketball enthusiasts to get active with the help from Tall Black Guard Lindsay Tait who began his career at Youthtown. 

The Youthtown City Basketball Club will join Basketball Auckland’s four other Auckland-based satellite clubs. The basketball programme will be run from Youthtown’s central branch on Nelson Street from February 2012 for anyone in years 7 to 13 who doesn’t have access to a local team or club. Lindsay Tait will run these programmes and offer coaching advice to participating basketball fans.

St Paul's College Visit

Eighty students from St Paul’s College visited our Nelson Street branch this week and took part in basketball, team building challenges and a range of activities on offer.

The students also contributed to a collaborative art project, consisting of five panels, which will be installed at the school library in the New Year.

Youth at the Grey Lynn Festival were encouraged to put their imaginations and creativity to the test making badges and contributing to a collaborative artwork (pictured above) which will be displayed at the Leys Institute Library in Ponsonby.

Summer is just around the corner and Youthtown has your summer holiday sorted with Break-Away School Holiday Programmes in Auckland and Christchurch!

The Break-Away School Holiday Programmes are fully funded which means young people and teenagers between 11 and 17 can register and take part for FREE.

Activities include: Watersports, team challenges, outdoor adventures, art workshops, sports, games, cooking and loads more.

Check out our creation from the InterACT Disability Arts Festival which took place at the Corban Estate Arts Centre last week.

Designed to provide a range of art related activities for people of all abilities, kids got to unleash their creativity on canvas using paint and glitter.

Shooting Hoops with the SKYCITY Breakers

Some of our lucky basketball players got to shoot hoops with the SKYCITY Breakers under the Sky Tower this week in preparation for their first home game at Vector Arena on the 28th of April against the Sydney Kings.

Our next FREE Youth in the Park event is just around the corner and we're hoping you can make it along....
