I’m Amanda Murray, the Branch Manager of Youthtown Christchurch.

We dream up fabulous youth events and get the pleasure of putting them on for our local teenagers – anything from afterschool DJ or carpentry workshops making skate ramps to holiday adventures out surfing or racing go karts . Tough job but someone has to do it !

We are totally focussed on youth development and providing great times for our kids as well as being positive examples at the same time.

I’ve lived and worked in Christchurch for most of my life , in youth organisations and look forward to the rebuild of our great city and the role our kids will take in that.

Youthtown Break Away Holiday Programme

Break Away is a MSD holiday programme that is FREE to all teens ages 14-17 from areas around your school. Youthtown works hard to provide quality adventurous activities other than just tag or Frisbee in the park (but we will have some wicked games of tag too). All outdoor pursuits are Outdoor Mark Safety audited.

The Youthtown Break Away Programme is intended to help young people:

Build their social, interpersonal and communication skills, so that they can manage and respond positively.
To challenge and make positive choices about their lives.
Avoid high risk anti-social behaviour such as experimenting with drugs or being involved in crime.
Improve attitudes and engagement with school and improve their self-confidence and self-esteem.
Learn about the importance of being physically active, gain adaptable skills through participation and become aware of physical activities available in their communities.

Reggae Beach Party

We be Jammin' man on April 5th at Christchurch Netball Centre, and we want you to join us for our Reggae Beach Party! It'll be an awesome night with live music provided by Merchants of Flow as well as DJ Motiv. So bring your mates and get your groove on, snap some pics in the Mai FM photobooth and unleash the reggaemeister within!
