AUCKLAND CENTRAL

Like all Youthtown activities, the after school programme is something everyone enjoys and looks forward to. Run by experienced and dedicated staff, the programme runs from 3pm – 6pm and caters for children aged 5 – 13-years old.

Safety first

All Youthtown programmes are recognised by OSCAR and built around comprehensive safety policies and procedures. Staff to child ratios differ depending on the activity taking place:

1:10 (standard after school programme)
1:8 (day trips)
1:5 (water-based activities e.g. swimming)

So what’s on offer?

  • 5 & 6 year olds

The junior programme is all about making new friends, starting new hobbies and getting active.

We provide a lovely bright and well resourced room exclusively for five and six year olds, with lots of new toys and games to play with.  We have a caring and experienced team of supervisors and tutors dedicated to looking after your child and teaching them new skills.

  • Fun trips
  • On-site swimming
  • Cooking
  • Art workshops with a professional art tutor
  • Sport, games, craft and free play
  • Assistance with homework
  • Pick-up from school and afternoon tea included

There’s so much choice, the only hard bit is deciding what to do next! Enrol now and join the fun!

  • 7 – 13 year olds

Whether your child wants to tackle their homework, unleash their creative side or gear up for some sporting action, Youthtown runs a great range of activities as part of their after school programme.

Run in a safe and nurturing environment, each afternoon is kicked off with a ‘fair play’ briefing and a nutritious afternoon tea (menu is displayed on notice board for parents’ reference).

Activities are categorised into zones. These include:

GYM ZONE

Fun and innovative team games like soccer, badminton and volleyball are run regularly each afternoon – a healthy and productive way of burning excess energy!

COOKING ZONE

Mmmm mmmm! The cooking zone operates three times a week and is a great place for kids to master fun and simple recipes (not to mention the art of cleaning up)!

ACTION ZONE

The ultimate place to chill out after a hard day at school! Sing Star, Buzz, dress ups, pool, table tennis and marbles are just some of the cool things kids can get up to.

DISCOVERY CENTRE

Who knew learning could be so much fun?! The Discovery Centre is a place where kids can launch into their homework under the watchful eye of our Discovery Centre coordinators. Once homework is complete, fun quizzes, board games and other cool activities make the Discovery Centre come to life!

Join the club!

Children enrolled in Youthtown’s after school programme can choose to join specialist clubs at no extra cost! Homework club, art club, cultural club, dance club and sewing club are just some of the groups on offer. New clubs are added each term which means fun and learning at Youthtown is forever evolving!

Art clubs

Always buzzing with excitement, Youthtown’s art programmes provide fuel for creative minds after the school bell rings. With a range of clubs, projects and age appropriate activities to choose from, kids can let their imaginations run wild and their ideas take flight!

Rain, hail or shine!

Whatever the weather, nothing can dampen Youthtown’s after school programmes. During the warm summer months, programme coordinators will often arrange visits to local parks and beaches (with parental consent of course), while programmes are run indoors during the winter.

The fun doesn’t stop when it’s raining; however Youthtown provides no television viewing for attendees.

THE LOW DOWN:

The after school programme costs vary depending on how many days your child attends and how far in advance you decide to pay. The following table provides a guideline to our fees:

Amount per Day Days per Week Payment
$15 1- 5 2 wks in advance
$14 1- 5 Whole term
Extra siblings will receive a 20% discount on their enrolled days

Youthtown requires this to be paid two weeks in advance. As the programme is substantially subsidised there are no refunds for non-attendance.
