Youthtown’s CEO Steps Down

It is with a deep heart and sadness that on behalf of the board I have the task to announce that Paula Kearns, our CEO, has decided to step down from her role as the CEO of Youthtown and explore other opportunities.

During her 5+ years with Youthtown, Paula has driven the formulation of our 2020 Strategy and its delivery, and built on this with our renewed 2030 Strategy more recently. This has included numerous investment opportunities, most notably being the lodge on Ohakune, but also investing in our wonderful team.

Paula has been pivotal in moving our organisation forward and has challenged the entire organisation, including the board and myself, on the Vision of Youthtown. Paula epitomises our key driver to empower young New Zealanders to be the best they can be.

Paula leads from the front and has carved out an excellent path for Youthtown into the future. Being the leader of an organisation is a tough role, but Paula has always tackled this with great enthusiasm and energy. Her contributions to Youthtown have put us in a strong position to continue to deliver on our vision to 5-18 year olds, whilst building a sustainable, future focused organisation ready to take on the next wave of opportunities and challenges that face us.

Paula has kindly offered to stay on in her current role to assist the board in finding a suitable replacement. Paula has indicated that she is available to assist during this transition phase until 29 March 2019.

Please join the board in wishing Paula every success as she embarks on a new chapter and a well-earned holiday.
